Howdy! Forgive me I'm still building this site

I'm Bug!

I do everything from helping people develop a planner that works for them to trudging through a river for samples in Texas summers to writing about my favorite Magic: The Gathering releases. I particularly enjoy work that gives me the opportunity to be creative or get involved in my community.

I have a Master's in Biology in an Entomology lab and I'm passionate about scientific outreach and communication. In addition to creating zines and comics designed to make science accessible to everyone, I've spoken at conferences, on public radio, and at a variety of school events. It's my hope to encourage the rest of the world to fall a little bit more in love with its tiny, many-legged residents.

When I'm not staring at small critters, I spend my time reading, watching Star Trek, and going on assorted adventures (as well as playing plenty of Dungeons & Dragons).

I'd love to work with you. If you have an idea you're excited about, feel free to reach out at bug@bugthebard.com.

I appreciate any opportunity to work with a variety of people, finding ways to make science more universally accessible, helping out an event, or just going outside my comfort zone. Here are some things I've done or appeared in that were aimed at a "general public" audience!
